Join us for an open mic celebration of local poets in Loganberry Cafe, with Anna Saunders, Chloë Jacquet and Kate Dent. This event promises to be a vibrant celebration of our community of poets and a showcase of voices shaping our region’s creative future.
The open mic is for local poets to read a single poem - there will be 20 slots: sign up on the door!
Held at Loganberry, 27-26 High St, Stroud GL5 1AJ.
Anna Saunders has been described as ‘a poet who surely can do anything’ by The North, ‘a modern myth maker’ by Paul Stephenson, and Tears in the Fence said of her ‘Anna Saunders’ poetry is reminiscent of Plath – with all its alpha achievement and radiance’. She is the author of Communion, (Wild Conversations Press), Struck, (Pindrop Press) Kissing the She Bear, (Wild Conversations Press), and five collections with Indigo Dreams: Burne Jones and the Fox, Ghosting for Beginners, Feverfew, The Prohibition of Touch, and Anna’s latest book Eurydice in The Ruined House (2025). She is also the Executive Director of Cheltenham Poetry Festival and works as a creative writing tutor and mentor, communications specialist, journalist, broadcaster, and copywriter /editor.
Chloë Jacquet is a multicultural, multifaceted, multi-slam-winning spoken word artist. With a preference for straight talking, rhymes and opinions, her poetry is entertaining and meaningful. She deals with a variety of subjects, from discrimination and mental health, to the pressures placed on men, via her short-term relationship with a biscuit. More recently she has been sharing works about her experience of cancer.
Kate Dent An MA graduate with a background in arts admin. Kate is a poet based in Stroud, Gloucestershire. The rural and urban rub shoulders in her work, as do the corporeal and immaterial, along with other strange bedfellows. Her work has been published in Pulp Poets Press, Doris Press, Dialect Anthology and, most recently, a pamphlet, Bedlam (Slight). She is working on her first collection.
